On the evening of November 12,  2014, CyberPoint International hosted its inaugural Women in Cyber Security Reception at their offices in Harbor East.

Bringing together women from across the region and all different points on the career spectrum, this event was an excellent opportunity to get together and share what they are all passionate about—empowering women to succeed in the cyber security field.

Leaders from industry, academia, and government reconnected and strengthened relationships while building new ones. Those just starting out in their careers had the chance to meet the technical and business professionals who are shaping the future of cyber security.

Starting at 6:00pm, a selection of fine wine, hors d’oeuvres and other refreshments were served with welcoming remarks and a toast at 7pm. Even Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake joined in, saying a few opening remarks to the group.

What we thought was really neat was that all guests received a special limited edition fine art print by a female artist from Baltimore, commissioned especially for the occasion.

This Women in Cyber Security reception was held as an invitation only event in order to ensure there will be an appropriate mix of women at different career levels and with a diversity of backgrounds. Given the success of this inaugural event, we are even more excited to hear of plans for the next one. Check out more info about the event and pictures from the Mayor’s website.
